• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Anyone any experience of using Landvac glass units, project on the table with it specified, new to me, performance values look good but its got to be ordered in from China, Architect specified & planning permission granted.

I've specified it a few times, and it's never yet been used. The price is eye-watering.

Once this product scales up properly, I reckon it will take the place of ordinary double glazing.

Downsides? A regular pattern of small dots, which are bits of glass (I think) holding the 2 sheets apart. And it can't be cut by a glazier, or DIY. It is formed permanently to the necessary size.

the price?

I quoted for this job last year, on the basis of the cost for the glass @ £258.00/m2 + VAT + delivery which is an unknown entity until you place the order (dependent on volume).

With tight tolerance as well, rebates are small, I specified that we wouldn't order glass units until frame's were made, as even a couple of mm out could be a expensive show stopper, 12 week lead time.

I'm probably not starting this for a few months yet, i'll post updates as and when.

And the payback time is measured in ? Years ? Decades ? Centuries ?

Period building = shutters and curtains

It looks like an excellent product, especially if you are replacing single glazing. The acoustic properties look impressive too.

Interesting they use Low-E glass as well.

Our whole house is fitted with 6mm Low-E.
We also added film to the whole lot except kitchen scullery and garage.

Mike, was there a reason for it not being used?

Price. I believe the lead time was also an issue once or twice, but for all of them...........price.
