If you have a perfectly good circular saw and relectant to retire it in favour of a tracksaw then maybe this video will give you some ideas.

But with the toggle clamps & 15mm MDF he must be losing 30mm depth of cut so in use it would have very limited depth of cut add to that the abrasive paper would prevent you using it on finished sheet material & it seems a lot of work for a very limited use tool.
It also doesn’t address one of the best features of a track saw for me the excellent dust extraction, though judging by his complete lack of extraction his lungs aren’t his top priority.

I think he only loses one thickness of mdf off his depth of cut?

I might just pinch the clamping idea for straight edge clamps and then would not lose any depth of cut.

If I get round to making one or a pair at 4.5' it would get used outside for breaking down sheet goods before timming to size on the table saw. I just cant fit an 8 x4 into my workshop unless it is super tidy.

He has to set the depth of cut so the motor on his saw misses the toggle clam as it slides along the track, this is a problem on most track saws if you want to make accessories that bolt onto the track where the motor travels

The most glaring thing I noticed is that there's no extraction with that ordinary circular saw. At least with the Festooly beast (or similar) you can extract off it. Mdf dust like that in my 'shop is a pretty big nae :eusa-whistle: and to be avoided if I can possibly help it - Rob
