• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

It's a mystery...

Arriving back home yesterday we spotted Dave, the Parcelforce driver, coming down our drive. So we overshot the turn-off to let him go by, then we reversed back and drove up to the house. Little card in the door.."How silly", we said. "He saw us stopped and he also stopped for a few seconds but then he drove off without giving us the parcel".

We read the card. "Left in garage". Que? The garage was locked.

"Ah, it will be inside the open woodstore. Clever old Dave". Nothing.

"Ah, perhaps it is something thin enough to slide under the locked up-and-over garage doors". So I unlocked the door to see a parcel...far too big to slide underneath the door. So how ? I have no idea.

Spooks of owners past ...............

I know it is a stupid question - but did you lock it in the first place?

Maybe the delivery people have their own set of keys?

Definitely locked. Spare set of keys....that's a question to ask next time I see him.

Funny thing you mentioning spooks of owners past...not people exactly but the house. I have got good spatials ...SWMBO less so...but both of us get disorientated frequently when we get to the bottom of the stairs and/or exit some rooms and end up going in the wrong direction. We think it's because the house is telling us that the current layout is wrong :o

Not maybe used to the layout of the old house after so many years, and now still learning where everything is?

(they are digging up our sewer line to check the angle and fall, and they just put a pick through the main water line. O BIG S H I T now, 15 houses with no water)

I do like a good mystery.... :D

You'll have to call in the "Disorientated House Busters"

Mrs P and me used to hear whispering on the landing in one of our previous homes and Colin the dog used to stare at the landing area and bark as if someone was there, but nobody was there. It's all very strange.

I've had similar descriptions in the past and they have thrown the item over the garage into the garden!

Spare key in / under, flower pot / rock / slab, best check there's not a front door key as well.

Must be a spare key. Part of my tool business involved deliveries to customers houses when the customer was usually working miles away. My delivery driver had keys and keypad codes to garages all over Somerset!

I saw Dave and asked him.

I forgot to lock the up-and-over door
