Pinch
Old Oak
Hello Chaps.
As I’m still not fit enough to continue with my sideboard project at the moment, I have been looking through some unpacked boxes since our move at the beginning of the year and I’ve stumbled across some old photos of previous projects, one of which dates back to 1983 when I was an 18 year old apprentice carpenter & joiner. The other few projects are from the early 90’s. I have loads more somewhere - wish I could find them.
1983 – Kitchen Seating Area.
This project was for my girlfriend’s mum and dad of the time. I had my 18th birthday while I was making this project and my girlfriend’s dad Dave, bought me an electric planer as a birthday present. I remember feeling especially pleased with it as it was a rebating planer.

My 18th birthday.

Proud as punch!
What an 'ansome chap.

1990 – Hi-Fi Unit, Coffee Table and Display Cabinet.
During the late 80’s and early 90’s, I was doing a lot of shopfitting work around the country. I remember waiting all weekend for materials on one of the shopfitting jobs, so I made these three pieces rather speedily for my home which I was renovating at the time. The hi-fi unit was solid wood, the coffee table was solid wood and WBP ply and the display cabinet was WBP ply with wooden mouldings.

1991 – another Kitchen Seating Area.

1992 – Pine Fire Surround.
I remember this little project as quite challenging because I still didn’t have a workshop and I made this on site.

1992 – Pine Workstation.
As above, I made this on site as I "still" didn’t have a workshop at the time.

What a wonderful happy-go-lucky time it was back then.
Loved it.
