• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

I haven't posted anything I've made for a long time as I've been busy re-landscaping the garden, but we needed a new log store. SWMBO didn't want an eyesore up against the house so we agreed that she would be the one to go up the garden and fill the log basket with logs from our store behind the shed on a dark, rainy winter's night. Haha! Who am I kidding, so I've knocked this together.

Started with an end frame.

Then I made the other end on top to make sure they were the same size.

Then I pre-painted some shiplap so that bare wood didn't show on shrinkage, and then added a batten base, some anti racking braces, and connected the sides.

Painted the front with Sikkens, and added an 18mm ply and felt shingle top.

A lifting lid makes loading and unloading easier.

Overall cost was about £100, of which over half was for the 18mm ply lids and felt shingles. Not a rocket science job, but at least shows I'm still here, and maybe useful to someone! :)

Anyone else having a problem? This is the first time I've posted photos since Google pulled the plug on Picasa, but I can see the images on my own PC, my wife's laptop and my smartphone.

Photos look fine to me. Welcome back Roger.

The spiders will be very grateful to you for providing them with a nice warm dry home......until they get roasted on the fire, of course ;).

No images for me either. What's your secret Mike?

Terry.

PS just checked and can't see them on my phone either, so not that I am using an ancient iPad.

Can't see them on WWUK either, wonder if it's something to do with viewing on Apple/ safari

That's got to be the neatest log store I have ever seen. Certainly puts mine to shame.

I can only see the images on my phone, android. Cant view in Safari on IOS nor Firefox in OSX, el capitan.
Not sure why at the moment. I will ask the other mods And get our heads together.

OK, it must be a problem with the way the link to the image in Google Photos works. Always used to work fine in Picasa but that's been pulled. I'll upload to Photo bucket and try that. Give me 30 mins or so!

I am working on google photos and using the "get link" option in the sharing menu but that doesnt work either.

I hope the bar stewards havent set google photos so that hosted images are only visible on google chrome.

I need more help with this one

I've edited and linked to photobucket. Any better for those unable to see before?

Works on my Mac Mini and Safari.

Neat job. Much better than my bin store!

Apparantly I "bottoxed" things up when I moved the images to a new album within Photo bucket after creating the post. Hopefully all OK now. Glad it wasn't a complicated post!

pics work on this PC .. Linux and Chrome :)
Does the hinge line let water in ?

Probably! Hovever, it's a north facing wall, and the lounge bay protects it from the west, so I reckon any water ingress will be minimal. And in any event, it's only for logs - I'm not intending on living in it - unless of course SWMBO kicks me out!
