• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

or is it OS. Looking to buy the DEOS 343 but see a lot of suppliers quoting the Mirka OS343. Does anyone have any idea what the difference are.? If any.

:eusa-doh: Thanks Alan. Disaster purchase narrowly avoided ! That's the good news.

But the bad news is that I can't find the 343 available anywhere. The 353 decorators kit is available but at an eye-watering price plus I've got loads of abrasive for the 343.
 
From what I’ve seen of the reviews they are all recent so a new product, no doubt they make more money selling it as a kit so they’ll make you wait for it to be available in a cardboard box.
 
Contacted Mirka who pointed me in the direction of folk like Restorate (formerly Rest Express!). Spendy but I've bitten the bullet and ordered one. Just getting the cardboard box version. Once it's arrived will look to see if any of the extraction hoses/connectors I have can be pressed into service.
 
Size in my hand. Also I have a lot of abrasive already for that size. My decorator has the 353 and it felt just that bit more clumsy. She let me have a go with her sander ;) :o
 
When I worked at Ax there were two of these things in the workshop bolted to the wall. When I asked why it transpired that a certain member of d'management :eusa-whistle: was apt to borrow one for 'homers' and was extremely reluctant to return it :lol: - Rob

OK...you're being too polite to tell me I've been a bit of a wally ;) :)

The abrasive pads are NOT the same size as the hand-held one, as I now know. :oops: And you can't cut the handheld ones down to length because they're not wide enough... :(

If I didn't know better, I'd have said it was a deliberate design 'feature' :evil:
