• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. More for bob but do you know what poll or rpm the motor is on my 10inch axi saw. 2.2kw. I have tried the manual, motor body and axi webaite but no luck in finding out.
 
If there are no marking on the motor, then you will have to work it out.

Mark the motor pulley and one blade tooth with a marker.

Turn the pulley one complete turn and see how many turns the blade does, use the teeth to estimate fractional turns.

Blade speed for 10" is going to be around 4000 rpm. equivalent to around 10,000 feet per minute

Divide 4500 by the number of turns of the blade and with luck, the answer will be around 2850 (2 pole) or 1425 (4 pole)
Not an exact science but should give you an idea.

Cheers Bob. I was planning on swapping the motor with a 3phase adding a horse. Ended up buying a totally different new saw. Don't need the extra power but wanted 3phase to make it easier to wire in a set of machines in one area.
 
Bloody ebay pricks. Not brought a new saw now. A lovely startrite ps315, emailed the guy a few days ago, he wanted £1600 outright so asked if he had a folk lift. Nothing from him since. Auction ended last night with me as the highest for less than £1100. He messaged this morning saying he sold it yestetday and forgot to end the auction.

So not so redundant now.
 
I do hate it when people just cancel auctions or at the end just decide they don't like the price and won't sell it to you. I thought ebay used to police this sort of behaviour, but maybe not any more. A couple of times I have been highest bidder for something and then just before auction ends the seller withdraws saying there is a mistake in the add or some other untruth.

It should be very simple. You list it, set a reserve if you want, there should be no facility for the buyer to withdraw from auction themselves and when the auction ends it is a legally enforcable contract.

I think people don't put a reserve on to save the ebay fees. I won an item and when I asked when I could collect it the seller said he would not sell it for the price it made. I reported him but theirs not a lot you can do.
 
He has been reported. Other purchases are dependant on winning and for what price so it's really annoyed me.

He is trying it on for sure and has been reported. That will not get me the saw I know but hopefully it will mean he will have some inconvenience in dealing with eBay or having to sign up for a new email address, then ebay again.

I don't doubt for one second he actually did sell the saw.
