• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Old codger with sawdust in his veins currently in the San Francisco Bay area. Soon to move back to Europe in his dotage and plague you all from nearer afield ! I'm a building contractor, or was, so I'm hoping to learn a few chops from the 'professionals'.

You want to leave SFO :o Can we swap? I love the whole Bay area, Marin Headlands - used to work for a company based in Alameda and spent many a happy time in the area.

San Francisco... mmm hollowed out sourdough loaf filled with clam chowder.... and the first time I got taken for a 'senior' when I asked for a ticket for something. Wondered for a while why i paid less as i went in. lots of good memories from our SF visit.

Only been to SF once by had a good trip. Took in some great Mexican food in some deep dark back alley place in The Mission. Cops told us we were fine so long as we stayed in between certain street numbers! :)

Well yeah, another shitty day in paradise.

Thing is, I can no longer masquerade as an "American Person".

I am not, and I don't approve of the current global hegemony.

I can no longer pay taxes to support a terrorist organization.

Hell, I just want to butcher wood in my dotage, in some un-warlike place.

Call me an old Hippie, and I'll take it as a compliment !

As you can imagine, I am very hard pressed with administrative muck concerning divorce and expatriation.

Forgive hiatuses in my presence here, at least till I can re-establish in Europe.

I do have some requests for help and inforation regarding the shipping and use of my American tooling in Europe.

I'll get around to that discussion by and by…..
 
@9 that would be ……difficult.

I think I'd better restrict myself to practical matters.

Not that political issues are not of practical significnce to wood-workers.

I'll treat it as a dinner-party, where such matters are taboo until the ladies have retired and the Port is circulating……
