• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

New Magazine

Not really new it’s bi monthly & that’s issue 10 but it’s good Nick is back in the business

Nick asked me to write a short piece for one of the earlier issues, which I gladly did. However, there was not a word of thanks when he received it, nor recompense of any sort (not even a complimentary issue) but instead there were several terse emails almost demanding that the pictures were better.

To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. Working for Derek Jones however, the then ed of F&C was a completely different experience; a scholar and a gentleman at all times and we still often natter on InstaG - Rob
 
Rob, I only know Nick slightly, but he has been quite open about how he launched Quercus as part of his recovery from serious head injuries he sustained in a road accident.
I think it's likely that the silence you mention was in one of the periods when he wasn't yet firing on all cylinders again, and isn't his normal behaviour.

Quite possibly so Andy. I met him at Yandles a few years ago before his horrible accident and I found him a very pleasant chap; he even donated a box of Pozi screws to the cause, which I still have outside in the 'shop. It would still have been nice though, to receive a quick email thanking me for my efforts (which took some time, as they always do) - Rob

I didn't know him personally but I met him a few times at a show before his accident and I thought he was a really nice guy.
He was knocked off his bike if I recall correctly but I did follow reports of his progress and he had a hard time. Head injuries can be very destructive and can adversely affect a person's personality, perhaps a factor in Nick's case?
Still should have acknowledged your efforts though.
