• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Hi everyone,
New member from Wiltshire.
I’ve been woodworking properly for about five years. Usual bit of casework and joinery, but recently became a bit addicted to trad chair making. Also peeking down the carving rabbit hole now, of which I’m a total beginner.
Only have a converted single car garage workshop, but I love it!

Hi and welcome from Northumberland.
I do a bit of carving from time to time, in the round rather than flat and it certainly can be a deep rabbit hole.

Welcome; whereabouts in the grand county of Wiltshire are you? - Rob
A bit north of you, just outside Bradford on Avon. I used to work down your way at the college a few years back.

Welcome aboard!

This annoying moderation delay will go away after your third post.

Before anyone else says it - we love photos of members work.

I’ll have to dig around for some pics! I’ve got a low back Windsor that a WIP at the moment, but not at a pretty stage though, or some other furniture I’ve made for my son.
Tbh all I have done today is rebuild the headstock for a friend’s lathe, I don’t think anyone will want pics of that!!!

Although the Sapele that I chose for the seat, because of the interesting and wriggly grain really made me question my life choices when scorping that out today.
