• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Hi and thanks for letting me register....
I recently retired and I am picking up again on my woodworking, that stalled 30 years ago due to pressure of work!
I own a venerable (1956) Myford ML8 woodturning lathe which is still chugging along quite happily and I look forward to bowl turning again when the weather warms up.
A new bandsaw and planer thicknesser is on the shopping list for this year, to replace kit that hasn't lasted as well as the ML8.
I am located in West Sussex.

Hi Paul and welcome.

I look forward to seeing what comes out of the workshop.

We love pictures and WIP's here, and while the forum software isn't the most modern there's plenty of help to get picture posting working if you need it.

Cheers
Mark

Hi and welcome from another ML8 owner, sorry don’t really do much turning though.
Well when you are looking for your new equipment I’m sure there’s lots of help to be found from us all.

Hi Paul
Welcome to the forum from wet and chilly Northumberland. (We do see that yellow thing in the sky on an odd occasion) :P

Welcome Paul.

The standard advice is to post another 2 posts quickly, because that triggers the end of anti-spam features and enables much less clunky access for posting.

Hello Paul

Welcome. I used to live on the fringe of west sussex. Nice area.

Welcome Paul,

The ML8 was the first machine I owned as a teenager that started as a hobby and developed into a woodworking career.

Welcome Paul from another Myford owner. However mine is an ML7RB engineering model and a Myford VMC milling machine.
My background is in engineering and trying to build up expertise by machining wood. Also retired - 15 years in a couple of months.

Looking forward to seeing what you get up to.

Bob
