I'm contemplating fitting a window in my 1930's brick built garage. It's type of garage with a small tiled facade above the garage door before the roof slopes gently down from about 2.7m high to just over 2m high. Originally the non-tiled section of roof was concrete asbestos but has since been replaced with felt covered OSB.
At the 2m end there is a single door in the rear wall of the garage. I would like to put a window in the adjacent single skin wall - from directly under the joist supporting the roof to about 0.8m down.
I had two thoughts... Remove all of the brickwork between the door frame and the corner brick pier down to 0.8m and build a timber frame incorporating a window aperture. Or... cut out a whole the size of the window.
As usual, welcome thoughts and input.
Thanks!
