• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

I just wanted to say thanks to all of those here who have volunteered to help the NHS in any way at all.
I am working with some senior NHS managers and local businesses to set up a local production facility to make gowns and scrubs.
I have put all of my other projects on hold as this is a full time endeavour.

Well done mate. A friend of mine has a mate who has a GoFundMe set up as he is 3D printing the headbands for face masks and giving them to the NHS workers free. I donated the other day and he had smashed his £1k target and managed to buy another THREE 3D printers over and above the two he owns, and reckons between him and his mates he will be churning out 1000 headbands per week by the end of next week.

He also has a local company donating the acetate for the masks.

Once this is all over he is going to donate the printers to local schools.

If everyone is happy I will share the funding link for people to donate if they wish...

Here’s the link which gives the background of his idea and he’s putting on daily updates. No pressure to donate but feel free to if you want.

Cheers
Mark

Mark,

No link?

I cant really share lots of detail at the moment about what I am doing but I believe a press release will be coming soon.
I would like to encourage any of you who can to volunteer to help your local NHS in any way you can. Even those who are isolating like me can use a phone and computer.
When all this is over I think I will have an interesting story to tell.

Well that took its time BBC look north tonight the story about Northumbria University and Northumbria healthcare trust is my volunteer project. From an initial email to the CEO of the trust to the fist garment was about 10 days. I found a local business woman with relevant experience almost by accident and between us with backing from the trust we have millions of meters of fabric on order and 35 sites across the U.K. who are making or about to start making hundreds of thousands of gowns to protect the NHS workers.
I was not able to be there as today was my mums funeral, but it is not my thing anyway the important people to me know I was there at the start and hopefully will be there at the end.
At this point I am still a volunteer although that may change at some point.
Chronicle live also has the story but I can’t post links
