• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Has anyone seen a vice like this? The drill is there for proportion. It's had very little wear, it will get a clean up tomorrow. I didn't think £50 was bad. :D

That's interesting and unusual, as well as a bargain. Looks like a milling machine vice, but for some specialist purpose to me, but I don't know much about such things.

It's worth posting the photos on the "Show us your bench vice(s)" thread on the mig welding forum: there are quite a few vice-obsessives on there & they're bound to know more.

Yes that is interesting. I could do with a self centring vice myself, but not quite that big!
Is that a home made insert turning tool clamped in the vice?

I like it; wouldn't have a clue how to utilise it, but I like it. Knowing next to nothing about such things, is it me or is it rather more precision machined compared to the average vice?

IMG0024A.jpgIMG0023A.jpgIMG0022A.jpgThe thread is a little tight in places and I haven't grease gun nozzle the correct size for the grease nipple but a gallon of filthy Gunk later otherwise it's fine. A bit of use and TLC and it'll loosen up.
