• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Ouch, that is cold.
We have had a bit of a heat wave with temps up to 33c.

I had a message from friends in France the other day - considerably further south than David saying they were having frosts.

So it is you pinching all the warmth Phil :lol:

I had to crack the other day and put the central heating on - just not good enough!

Not seen much sun for a day or so either so I reckon we are close to the end of out free solar hot water season. Still can't grumble too much - we have been self sufficient from the sun since mid March with an estimated 4000kWh of free energy in the form of hot water and electricity plus £1200 payback to set against winter fuel costs.

No where near a frost here and still only need the stove lit in late afternoon. We benefit from a south facing aspect so solar gain is a massive boost.

Alas, like Bob I've had to give in and fire up the central heating. Mid afternoon max temperatures are still quite warm, but start late and finish early. When averaged out by the thermal mass of the building, the effect is already quite chilly.
 
Had the central heating on for weeks, life is too short to go around wearing three jumpers :lol: . But haven't gone as far as to put the underfloor heating on in the kitchen yet.

The sun is shining today - hoping to roasts leg of lamb on the BBQ this afternoon.
Perhaps the last time this season?

Only using heat in the bathrooms so far but will have to bring in my lemon tree soon.

News that global warming is harmful have been grossly exaggerated!!!!....today we walked in the almost balmy Autumn sunshine followed by a spot of pub lunch and I for one am NOT complaining. Long may this Indian summer continue.

Of course you're just talking about the current weather - the problem is the change in climate over time to the effects of man and the associated technological advancement.

er....I wasn't making a serious environmental proposition, just light banter after a pleasant family walk. The old written word.....not easy to see if the author is smiling eh :)
