It depends on which type you mean Roger, if a chisel type then I don't know but an option is a standard SDS drill fitted with an adapted chisel/gouge, I've seen those for sale somewhere and have use a normal gouge bit for stone on a tree stump after sharpening it up.RogerS":urwsfqd0 said:Anyone got any experience of these ?

If a rotary type there are a number available but the best by far is a Foredom, however at a price. If for your handrail then I guess a cheapie would do as it's not too big a job.
I might be able to help you out as I own a Foredom I could loan you, the downside is you would probably need to buy a couple of largish rasp cutters and they aren't cheap for good ones, you can get them from AXI. I don't use them as my carvings are small.
