• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Except for my lay up through health problems you may have noticed the lack of projects from me well this is what I have been working on.

The completed Prime mover is now finished. This took longer than expected due to the health problems, but I was not going to give in. I had a rough count and I think there are 9 or 10 different woods in the build. I did not want to use any stains or paints that is why I use as many different coloured woods where I can.

Don't ask how long it took as I don't keep a record of that side of things. I enjoyed the build and just have to say the glue on the wheels has not even dried when I took the photo's. I hope I have managed to get as much in as possible with the photo's

It measures 15 3/4" long X 5 1/2" wide X 7 3/4" to the top of the stacks.

Now that is very nice, I can see why it took you some time to finish it.

Is there a trailer in the pipeline for it?
 
Thank you guys it is just great to be back in the workshop, hopefully get back and do some turning.

No trailer planned the plans were sent to me so that I could do a build and write an article for the woodworker magazine

It is a 1988 Series 2 Mack Superliner.
 
Oh, wow! That really is beautiful. I can see a huge amount of love and care went into the making. :eusa-clap:
 
Nice job. I remember years ago the Blizzard books where plans were available for stuff like this. I seem to remember there was one for an American style fire engine complete with a vast extending ladder - Rob

I think I have one of his in my library a good starter book if I remember correctly.

My next toy/model is an American WW2 half track which need all the track links making so should take a little time. But that is after I have done some turning.
