Brilliant video. Especially liked the heating system.

At the start he seemed to be burning the wood around his mortices, what was the purpose of that process?

Maybe to enlarge the holes faster and less wear on the stone tools? I know that burning out is the method used to make bowls and dugouts.

In his comments to the video on youtube he says it took 30 days to build but took longer because he abandoned it for a while.
