• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Hi Admin, Just a thought on the registration page is it possible to add a contact e mail address. When I Registered the system should have sent me a link to complete before i can sign in, It didn't, If I hadn't known the wood bloke and managed to find his e mail address through other web sites I could not have registered at all let alone been able to contact admin as you have to be registered first be fore any contact. How many other did/has this happened to and are patiently waiting. just saying. hc.

Hello Martin,

I'm not sure how easy it is to customise the registration page. The usual reasons for non arrival of the registration post is either misspelling of your email address - unlikely as it is supplied twice as a check and Spam filters at the receiving end. Might be worth checking if it is hiding in there.

Cheers

Bob

hi When I registered the system told me it would send a link for me to complete the registration. At this point I assumed the system had accepted what I had entered as correct, but, it never sent the final link, so from an outsiders point of view no link, no completion, so that person ,or those people cannot contact admin to tell them something is wrong. I was lucky I know the woodbloke. Bob i would have got around to you sooner or later hahah, I cant but wonder how many others are out there waiting In this situation, there needs to be a contact point that anyone can use when problems arise, before during and after registration.

Martin

I have checked and the email was sent to you, I can see the sent message.

We have had this with 3 other people and on every occasion they confirmed back to me that the email was indeed in their spam trap…

I can also see the list of accounts who have registered but not clicked on the email link, and as of today your account was the only one in there, so I can 100% confirm that no other users are in the same predicament as yourself.

I would suggest checking your email provider is not blocking automated response emails and that the email from here is not trapped in there.

Thanks
Mark

Hi Mark

I Just checked, strange, the link that you sent to me after rob contacted you and all the approved posts e- mails all have gone straight into my Inbox. But before I had contacted Woodbloke the first link to complete my registration went into my junk mail folder which I never go into, very strange. Why would they automatically switch from junk mail to inbox without being instructed by myself to do so ? OK problem seem solved. thanks.

How your inbox handles incoming emails is determined by your software and your email provider. The forum has no control at all where our emails end up within your computer.

I'm just wondering if it is possible to add a - contact us link somewhere on the front page? A lot of forums have one and is visible to none members incase of issues.
I had a look but didn't see an obvious one anywhere.

hi all. Now there's a thought, I have one on my blog theworkshop for any one to contact me at any time, which is regularly used, but seeing the forum consists of member could it be set up for use of none member also ?

Not a bad idea, I will investigate…but if I start getting spammed then I will forward the emails onto you two's email addresses, deal? ;)

Mark

I had a similar problem, I had an internet glitch and managed to lose the E mail. I knew to contact Roger over on the dark side., so it all worked out OK - but it would have been easier with a contact of some description up front.

No problems experienced from the bottom end of Africa.

The Google cleft stick communication still works very well.
