• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

RIAT 2026

I used to police the old IATs at Greenham Common before other stuff happened there.

And as I was afraid of, thanks to the Ginger Toddler, RIAT 2026 has been cancelled. A great shame as the organisers spend ten months of the year organising it and a lot of the proceeds go to a charity.

"Ginger Toddler"? Nicola Sturgeon? She were "the Ginja Ninja" or "Killer Crankie" Roger.
Or, do you mean "the Big Orange Blob" (a.k.a."Bob") presently working out his jetlag (and hiding his utter lack of Sino-Yank progress) on Truth Social?

Serendipity strikes ...

While Googling the route to Iford Manor, I stumbled across this place....

Previously I've 'landed' a pre-glass cockpit Boeing 747 at several airports which was great fun.

How has he had any influence on it being cancelled? The potential need for our aircraft in the Middle East?

Fairford is an active USAF airbase - and it is the location from which many of the bombers are flying to the Middle East. While the air show is only a few days - the set up starts weeks ahead, so there isn't the ability to start and guarantee that it will run... There are also lots of other businesses who depend on RIAT for their income and while some (like two of our clients who are farmers and run local camping for RIAT) will have lost most of this year's income as a result - yet still, earlier notice means minimising the outgoings (such as booking portable loos / catering etc.) so that there isn't as big a financial loss, and for other businesses they can mitigate completely (such as on-site catering who can book elsewhere).

So a combination of Donald Trump's actions / unpredictable approach to the Middle East / his planes / needing a stop date by which a decision has to be made...

Amazing isn't it. The actions of one individual makes living more costly and establishd recreational activities (providing the local economy) impossible, while he tips off his cronies to make billions. Allegedly.
