Guess what I bought on Amazon prime day
Normally around £270 but nearer £170 on the day.
I got that look from my wife that instantly tells you you have wasted money on some junk gadget and will be reminded of it in the days to come.
As to why I bought it... we have an Orangery style extension with a large lantern roof. During the day with the doors open flies come in and go up into the lantern. There are vent windows at the top that are wide open but most are too stupid to use them and too stupid to fly down instead of up. Consequently summer mornings involve sweeping up dead flies.
That's where Dave comes in (you have to give it a name during set up and my brother in law Dave came to mind as he has probably never swept a floor in his life). Dave is scheduled via the phone app to start work at 6.30am each day.
Turns out Dave is the best thing I've wasted money on in ages. It is not a clever device that makes a map of the room but still it somehow manages to get everywhere over the entire downstairs and every morning starts off not only with no flies but no dirt anywhere it can reach. My wife is even impressed!
It runs for 90 minutes then takes itself back to its charger. So far it has only stopped because of a problem once and that was my fault for leaving out a cable it could hook itself on. The tape in the picture is like fridge door seal magnet that you use to make no go areas. Stops him eating the cats food. It has some kind of proximity sensor built in as it stops and turns close to walls or table legs without crashing in to them. If the sensor fails to detect an object then there is a bump switch band around the front.
