• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. Sabre 250 Guide Bearings

Went to use my little RP Sabre 250 today to resaw some 3" stock.

I noticed sparks coming off the top back bearing. After a check, the top back, one of the top sides, and one of the bottom side bearings are all seized solid. The ones that aren't seized feel like they have sand in them. (The saw is about 18 months old, it's only had weekend use).

I managed to get a bit of movement in one of the frozen ones by tightening a bolt onto the inner race, and holding the outer race lightly between softwood jaws in the vice, then turning the bolt - but it's obvious that it's dead.

The bearings are 8mm (int), 22mm(ext), 7mm thick.

I'll replace all 6. I don't mind buying quality - are these good? they seem very cheap https://www.bearingshopuk.co.uk/608-zz/

Edit - Bought these https://simplybearings.co.uk/shop/p2010 ... _info.html - they look more like the real thing.
 
I use Simply Bearings if I ever need to buy any. Bearings always strike me as cheap, but the choice can be bewildering.
