Sharpening plane blades

No I’m not at least interested in your way, I know mine is the best

Today I have been doing the first serious bit of planing for maybe two years.
I put together my collection of planes maybe ten years ago and had a bit of a fad buying at car boots and fettling planes then selling some so I could buy more. I can’t remember paying more than a fiver for any of them.
I have ended up with a boxful of bits, if anyone needs something.
What I did do is to keep sharpened spares with chipbreaker ready to go. Certainly paid off this morning on some oak laminated kitchen top I am making into a mega carving board for my nephew.

Sharpening session tomorrow, when I will……... no you don’t want to know
