Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

It's piling up in drifts here. Harsh easterlies have mounded it up at least 5mm deep. I've checked the baked bean stocks, and we'll be OK, just. At times like these I'm reminded that Captain Oates came from just up the road.
We had the lightest of dustings from 08:30 - 12:00 with the flakes getting to around the size of 20p pieces but nothing settled and it fizzled out after that. Still bloody freezing out like, literally.

Rather amusingly they stuck really well to the dogs eyebrows!

Looking at the Met Office weather warnings maps, the snow skirts around us until Thursday and Friday when we seem to be on the edges of the yellow warning areas.
Time will tell.

PV is quite good too as clear skies give good insolation and cold air temperature increases the efficiency of the panels. So we have more hot water than we can use currently.
I still find it fascinating even though I fully understand the fizzicks behind how and why it works.
I download the logger around the first of the month so will see the details of how many (few!) times the boiler fires to heat DHW.

It is only the sledge picture that did not get placed inline.
The forum software is not compatible with the Apple photo format which relies on auto rotate as display time. There is nought we can do about it - Mark has looked into it
AFAIK all other devices rotate the picture at the time of taking it. Apple store it rotated and correct when displaying on an apple device (only)

We had a good flurry this afternoon at the workshop. When I left to come home around 5pm, everywhere was white and pretty, but 9 miles down the lane reaching home, there was nothing. My car was the only car in the close with snow on it. 
Just checked outside and we're now getting a light dusting, but not enough to build a snowman - maybe a tiny tiny one.
