Old Oak
I knew I would need a load of gravel in this area. After four days of heavy rain I have scraped back the muck in the low spot, not surprised with al the vehicle traffic.
Maybe by the weekend I will have vapour barrier over the wall insulation. Not boring at all Duke, always nice to see how the other arf live.
I have been thinking what to do for the inside walls for a while now and have decided to use 1/4" OSB. Which I will prime and go over it with a rough/ish plaster, think a pleasant looking scratch coat. I have done this plaster finish in our home. It’ll be lovely and toasty in there with that insulation and a wood burner, what - if anything are you going to panel out the inside with Scott?
We have been down to the cabin with the dogs often, I go down first to start the fire then the rest follow. It's going be a great cabin!
I do often, my goal is to have an overnight stay this week. Which could be a disaster sleep wise as the dogs will be going nuts due to the wildlife sounds.Imagine yourself sitting there next summer!
Quite agree, trouble is that the “good” side always has a big black load of printing up and down it, how have you managed that Scott, looks very good btw.I like the raw look of the OSB. Thinking I might just use varathane and skip the plaster finish or use a coloured shellac by Zinser ?View attachment 36875
Now I didn’t know that, brilliant thanks! All osb from 7/16" thickness and greater has the dark lines at 16" on centre on one side and the manufacturers stamp on the other. But with the 1/4" there are no markings at all, this is why I decided to go with 1/4".
I used ring nails to fasten the board to the walls.
