A mild winter.
Then a shift into summer.
Back to winter 2c in the morning, 21c in the afternoon.
Back to summer, 26c the other day.
Back to winter today for a couple of days.
In the mean time, the orchids are flowering.
They survive year after year, maybe repotted, get some compost and fertiliser.
The Cymbidiums, the flowers last for weeks.
Then the small Bletilla striata (Chinese ground orchid) I aquired the first quorms in the early 70's and they have moved with me ever since. They have also been given to family and friends.
The individual flower only lasts a couple of days.
These are in a large pot with plastic mesh around it to keep out the Banded and also the Porcupine.
Do they require any special attention?
NO, they have to survive in our general garden.
I moved then to the patio when the Banded Mongoose started digging in the pots.
