• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Thanks Andy. I haven't driven a coach for almost 8 months. The coach touring industry is completely broken. I could probably drive National Express, but I'm high risk and I don't need to work thankfully. All is okay here, just keeping busy with various creative projects. Hope all is well your end. 8-)

Yes - so far, so good. We all have the long winter to get through now. :|

I hope all is okay with you and your stuff is still behaving. I had a severe Crohn's flare through the summer with several hospital admissions and visits. The tests/examinations are ongoing with three more fast approaching. I was on Infliximab infusion up until having an anaphylactic shock during the third infusion. I've just started a self-injected biological drug - early days but fingers crossed. Our NHS staff are superb.

The regular drinking vessel is a great source of inspiration.

Thanks Ian. 8-)

I was unsure about the end panels at first, but the reason for the stringing as thus, was to keep it in line with the string on the top surface. It took some working out from the beginning, purely because my wood stock was extremely tight. I was thinking about cross banding with some oak construction veneer (between the string and teak on the sides), but the width was so small, I could see what benefit it would give, so I decided to inlay the string straight into the pine panels instead.

The rear and base panels are plywood. I didn't really want to use a man made board anywhere, but I also wanted to use what I already had without buying anything. It made sense to use the ply. It was in good nick and is certainly strong enough, and, painted looks a treat. I used a black vinyl emulsion which I then sealed with a varnish - matt to the rear panel and satin to the base panel. We're very happy with it. 8-)
