• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Hello there!

Some of you might already know me from another forum, I heard that this is where all the cool kids hang out ;)

I'm an architectural joiner by trade, but I'm more of a wood machinist rather than a fine woodworker so to speak so I do prefer the sharp spinning stuff rather than pushing a hand plane but I'm not averse to it. I've still got a lot to learn though, so it's nice to be around people that know what they're talking about.

I also like to bodge about with metal but it really is just bodging and nothing on a precision or pretty scale.

Welcome :)

I vaguely remember there being another forum but I've not been there for years.

I prefer machines to hand tools too.

My working life was with metal so wood has made a change.

Hello mate and welcome aboard.

Not sure on the coolness levels around here (myself aside) but there’s plenty of helpful folks.

Photos of past or cuurent projects always welcome.

I rarely make anything really noteworthy! It's usually pretty bog standard windows, doors, staircases, etc.

Here's a couple of things that are not too shabby:

Hi Mr T...you're a welcome addition to the forum ! :D

No matter how noteworthy you may consider it I am sure that there are plenty here that could learn from what you do and how you do it.

Hi Mr T
Nice work... nice to see someone that does varied work.
I'm the same as you with the sharp spinny stuff....
