Youtube - wanna watch a video and an advert is on first. 3..2..1 skip the ad and the video starts. Then guess what... a bloody advert appears at the bottom of the video!! :x

Websites are becoming so full of adverts, the whole network is slowing down :x unless it's my old pc playing silly buggers :shock:

I'm sorry to moan, but come on! There are adverts everywhere and they're all trying to rip us off. What's the matter with this world?? Has it become that bad that everyone is trying their hardest to earn a buck by constant-in-your-face-unwelcoming-bloody-boring-ripping-off-farty-adverts all the dam time!

Well, in many cases if you are willing to pay for content you can go ad free. If you want free content you have to accept the provider needs to be paid somehow, in most cases it is ot a charitable gesture but a business.

Without them they say you'll have to pay a subscription.
I haven't got Skye but when I've watched it you get adverts too and you're paying for the privilege!
I record most TV programmes and jump all the ads [emoji3]
I don't watch a lot of utube but I use Adblock on my PC and iBlocker on my phone.

I agree with you, Paul. I loath eBay for that very reason....'Items based on your recommendations'...no, thank you. I don't want my screen cluttered up with every detail of my sordid little purchases Or Christmas presents that one's bought plastered all over the screen.

And don't get me started on Amazon 'Other people who bought that also bought this '...Sod off, Amazon. Stop wasting my time, my bandwidth, my CPU cycles. I am an intelligent human being (most of the time) and I can make up my own bloody mind.

Having said that the economy of many free sites such as reading the Guardian (as if anyone would ever want to do that - maybe why it's free :lol: !) is based on them being able to show you adverts. I also use Adblock but there are many sites now that detect it and stick up a sign explaining that you are depriving them of revenue and so they may no longer be able to stay 'free'. Not that I'm bothered with those free sites. Always another one.

I watch a few games of footie on free streaming sites who often place objects in front of the streaming video. Nuke is a way of removing those "blockers"

Photobucket can be a real PITA with adverts and also popup messages, which when you want to close them they open up in another window.

I have now installed adblocker and been working in Photobucket for some time now loading pics - AND - no popups!

Ok, so now we have Adblock installed.
Last night I wanted to use up the last of Octobers Gigs before midnight when the new month kicks in.

Found some music to download, fire up Clipconverter and start copying the URL's.

The fist clip downloaded fine.
The next clip ---------------------------------------------- guess what?

Clipconverter advises me that I am using an advertising blocker, they depend on their advertising revenue, and all the free download slots are already taken up. Thank you and try again later.

Try again - "Server not available"
Try again - 505 Error

Eventually after nearly 3 hours I downloaded 5 clips.

Where do I disconnect Adblocker - no clue what so ever! :shock:

I have just downloaded 4 woodtuning videos from Youtube, one after the other, and no problems at all. No adds, no pop ups.

In the past month or so I have recorded whole albums, song by song No problems at all

Another good use of Nuke is too remove those pop ups that do not go away unless you accept the website cookie policy.

The downside of the Ad blockers is that often results from a search come up as an Ad and they get blocked too.

I'm also finding on searches that there is a message saying that other results and information are being withheld due to Data Protection Law in Europe?
