• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Has anyone actually used more than, say, three types of those 'standard' spindle moulder cutters that feature in the catalogues ?
 
You mean the numbered standard profiles that a few companies do? I suppose I don’t use them too much but it’s rare that I do actual runs of moulding work like skirtings and architraves where the most of them could be applied, even when I do it’s replicating older profiles which are always unique in some way.

That's exactly the ones I meant and TBH I've never come across any mouldings 'out in the field' that matched !
 
I know what you mean, tongue and groove, rounding over edges and the reeded edge one is good, but you’re right most of them just don’t fit what I want to do. Often as not I have to have them made up. Ian
 
Yes, but I'm mostly doing simple stuff--round overs, cove, and dadoes or rabbets, with the occasional bead on an edge. But I'm only using 3 wing cutters, not replaceable knives. I have a couple of heads for replaceable knives, but haven't got around to using them. One came with the machine, and I picked up the other from another woodworker.
