• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

I remember watching this as a youngster with my Dad on Sunday evenings. It disappeared from C4 sometime ago, It has just popped up on my Youtube feed this morning.

My daughter's been on the original and did a couple of pieces to camera but it didn't make the final programme. She described the then host Mr. Robinson as fairly unpleasant and not somebody she'd ever like to be alone with for too long. The bloke with the long hair/hat with feather who was fond of saying...'noice bit o'poherry' is a resident of Salisbury and is frequently to be seen in the 'The Queen's Arms' which I think is his local. He works for Wessex Archeology which was the first firm she worked for having left uni and she didn't think a great deal of that either as she spent most of her time (as all newbies do) at the bottom of a muddy 'ole :D - Rob

Edit: she's now progressed to the point where:

...she supervises others at the bottom of muddy 'oles

The episode on Sheffield Steel is worth a watch. It includes a not very successful attempt at making crucible steel. A good example of how quickly skills can be lost.

However, it doesn't seem to be on the official Time Team channel or anywhere else on YT at the moment.
