• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Not much in the way of large projects I know, but I've finally finished my Thats Not A Knife project. :D
Cant remember if I showed the Knife here, although I know quite few saw it elsewhere :D

I wanted to make a sheath for it but it was impossible to find decent leather here, so I made a presentation box instead.
This is the one with the rippled beech top. Bubinga and Maple sides using birdmouth joints.Here it is all finished, with TNAK in place.

A fun project spanning 2 hobbies. Now I just need to find someone to buy the damn thing. 8-) 8-) :lol:

I can't imagine anyone buying a knife like that just for display and not using it but to use it does require a sheath.
 
Its too big to use seriously, over a kilo in weight, 13" blade. :shock:
Just a fun conversation piece.
I'm thinking a presentation piece to an ex marine maybe (I happen to know one of them :lol: ). if I price it cheap enough I'm sure he'll buy it. 8-)

What size do you think you will need, dont forget you will need a welt around the seam to protect the stitching.
I think you are looking at around £25 delivery.

I've spent quite enough on this already, without another 25 shipping plus the leather :lol: :lol: :lol:
Its in a cupboard now, to make room for my next project. 8-) 8-)

Apparently the story goes that during the filming of that scene, Harrison Ford had a chronic case of 'Montezuma's Revenge' and needed to get to a loo pdq, so the quickest way to film it was for him to pull out his pistol and shoot the baddy :lol: - Rob
