Tractor

I thought I had posted this here but must have forgotten, anyway now I have completed this tractor like most of the models I make it does involve some turning and as it takes a little time I am not filling the house with bowls and other turning. I started this the loco and a truck all on the 17th of may this year and this is the last of the three models. Finished with acrylic sander sealer and satin lacquer. Measures 11 1/2" L X 6 1/2" W X 7" T.

Thank you all for your messages, I stood back for a couple of days but still read the various forums I visit.

Lovely mate. How did you do the back wheels?

The wheels are quite simple when you breat it down.
Blanks cut and rounded over one edge and a template stuck on the rear to cut the slots

Slos cut on the table saw with a simple fence set up the template lines line up with one on the fence to line up where the slots need to be

Routed the inside after removing the centre with a jam chuck on the lathe. followed by sanding to tidy up.

Back on the jam chuck to cut a recess for the centre half depth on each half of the wheel for the centre

Then a case of making all the treads and sanding them to shape, A picture of the wheels complete with all the bits fitted. The only problem was I stuck one set on the wrong side so that the tread was facing backwards that was an easy fix using the jam chuck as above to turn away the spacer disc and small triangle on the centre remake those and stick them on the correct side
