• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. I have been requested to build a couple of display cases, and asked whether they can be made from UK grown and harvested timber (Ideally from the Lincoln/Lincolnshire area but this is probably pushing it a bit far!). Normally I would have gone to MAC timbers for this, but as they are no longer currently trading I am a bit stuck - anyone know of a supplier of reasonable priced UK grown timber? Species probably not critical at this stage, but I am presuming oak or ash are most likely. Google provides plenty of places with 'European' Oak but not any for UK grown. Doesn't have to be PAR, but I would prefer to avoid waney edged if at all possible simply for the wastage factor.

I'd have thought your best bet would be Somerscales who are north Lincolnshire Stevie

They usually have air & kiln dried native timbers, the last time I went I was very impressed with their set up, they kiln dry themselves & had a great selection of timbers.
 
How about Sykes? They show both English and European oak.
Or Vastern Timber ?
