I reckon you've really succeeded, in the design and in the construction, and it looks just right in situ. Of course, as a woodworker, you point out the 'defects' that no normal person would ever notice or care about...but that's a piece of furniture to be proud of.

And I see nothing wrong or even unusual about taking your time on a project!

Thank you Mike, it has been a fun piece and, although quite simple in construction, very challenging.
The serifs on the feet are protected by strip of walnut with the grain in the opposite direction. Mop?! Wassat.

Thank you Andy, as a small low down table I do wonder how many people will even notice the design without it being pointed out to them. Will see at the weekend when some not often seen outlaws pay a visit.

Thank you Robert and yes during the prototyping a serif snapped off one of the pine mock ups that I made. That dark strip is long grain walnut which I hope will give the required additional strength. This was mentioned in the thread but I forgive you for only skim reading.

Thank you both The missus was looking at it this morning and commented that it is hard to position the table to show off it’s best side, or ends . It would need to be positioned perpendicular to the wall.
