• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Variety of homes in Sturgeon Falls

I’ve just dropped the hire car off in Toronto after a circular trip of Gananoque, Montreal, Quebec, Ottawa and back to Toronto @duke. Much as I love the UK, Canada is blessed with many fine homes, views and breweries!

Blackswanwood, I have been to all the places you have just visited. Montreal is nuts if you are a pedestrian but a lovely place. Quebec City is fantastic, I can take or leave Ottawa. Before I leave this world I would like to tour The Eastern Townships of Quebec. We have had an explosion of micro brewers over the last 15 years.

Nice to see brick houses again, not common here at all. But who on Earth would add such a different dormer?
Thought this was going to be a political joke from the title lol.
You got me why they would make a dormer that doesn't match the others. Not an attractive home, I would rather have the bungalow.

Did you take the Thousand Island Boat Tour or are they not in season yet Blackswanwood?
They have just started Duke. We’d planned to visit Boldt Castle but then realised my wife doesn’t have an ESTA to visit the US so after a few drinks I booked the helicopter tour which was brilliant. I hadn’t realised that the border was so convoluted as it weaves through the islands.

I agree Montreal and Quebec City are great and felt Ottowa (apart from the Rideau Canal Locks) wasn’t in the same league.

We’ll probably head West next time and make it a longer trip as the last two weeks have flown by.
