Very nearly the whole RAF …..

Beavering away this afternoon when the unmistakable sound of a wokka is heard. As a bit of a spotter I popped my head out and behold…..

What must be very nearly the entire RAF overhead (they were the right way up, - honest!).

Not sure where they were going, there isn’t a doughnut shop that way.

A distinctive sound Roger; I take notice when either 'The Blue Angels' or an Apache fly over at virtually roof top level. The former did last year and the later is a fairly frequent occurrence - Rob

There’s nothing else makes a noise like that, used to get them over me in ones and two's and sometimes at night as well.

Regular as clockwork I used to get theses as well, definitely knew they were coming!

We were out yesterday on South Parade Pier in Southsea (Porstmouth) with the grandchildren and saw them flying in towards the naval baase. I did video them but my mp4 is 96MB so I can't post or email it.

Where we live in Chichester we often see, hear and feel the effects of on or two Chinooks flying overhead, but not as many as the 'flock' we saw yesterday!
