• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

I had a week spare recently so knocked this nice little thing out. I haven't done a full resto thread because theirs one already some where. This one dates from 1945. Its going to live over the pond so the motor was rewound for 22Ov. My motor guy tried to tease out the star windings but the bitumen was too brittle and brought off the insulation on he windings.
These are really nice little saws and this one has presets for various angles and compounds. They can take the old style gun metal trenching head which work really well. They come up pretty cheap as well.

Wow, that's an odd looking RAS. I've never seen one with a hand wheel up on top like that. Great job on the restoration as always.

Wait till you see its dad the CC, it spins a 2O" blade and some variants had a 4' cross cut. I've got one but its well down the list.

I am not normally one to comment on such things but is there no guarding at all on the bottom half of that blade?

They lock really firmly, I've used the one I have with an old gunmetal trenching head for tennons with good results.

It has a adjustable nose piece but other than that theirs no more guarding just like all RAS's. They are still allowed to be used in factories by the HSE as long as the blade goes back into a enclosed box and have a return spring
 
Slightly off topic Wallace, but wheres the best place to get some of those little brass oil caps on an RS. I've got a couple missing the little lid on mine, also is there a specific oil I should use in them ?
