Weights

While sorting out my workshop, getting ready for the big move, I had to open two big metal storage trunks.

In the one I came across a small box of weights that came from my late dad.

The markings in the box are:-

Baird & Tatlock
Hatton Gardens
London
E.C.1

The weights range from 1gram to 10gram, the 1gram is missing.

There is place for tweezers to handle the small weights, of which there two left, the
.02gram
and
.05gram

I need to decide on what to do with them before we move.

Do you know any grandfather clock makers? They sometimes use these light weights to adjust the pendulum swing/weights.

Hatton Gardens makes me think it was more likely to do with a jeweller, Roger. That's the jewellery quarter of London.

I'm surprised the measurements are metric, though, rather than carats, or ounces.

Apothecary weights

This made me go and start unpacking another old trunk to look for the scales that I salvaged at a second hand shop. Will post a pic when I clean it up a bit.

Ok, here is the scale.

It is marked "Avery". Most of it is brass and needs a good clean.
I have had it for more than 50 years (some sentimental value) so I will keep it.

The weights will also be kept and mabe incorporated into the scale.
