• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

How about trying a bit of spoon carving Mike, get some pre-axed blanks and cover yourself in tiny chips of wood ;)🤣

Well it really all depends what kind of stuff you like, or may like if you tried it. I was thinking specifically 'Yellowstone', a drama about Montana cattle ranchers in modern day, but it also then goes into prequels, of which we're watching '1923' right now.

Some really interesting topics covered such as the greed of landowners, persecution of the Native Americans etc.

Might not be your cup of tea, but Jules and I loved Yellowstone and loving 1923 now. Might be worth a try given you've got some time to kill with a bit of escapism based on true life.

Thanks....but that's a forlorn hope. The process can't be accelerated without prejudicing the long term quality of the tendon.
 
Well, a little bit of good news. It started with the cast rubbing my skin, and being a bit uncomfortable. I revisited the surgeon who cut it off.....and decided that the wound had healed sufficiently to put me straight into the boot, two weeks ahead of schedule. What's good about that is that I can now put my foot down, and bear my weight. The first time in 6 weeks. I can also walk with only one crutch, and I celebrated by walking laps around the garden of a local pub at lunchtime. It feels like a really big step forward. The road is long....
 
Great to read about the progress Mike! Best wishes to a complete recovery - as you have said rather take it easy for a complete healing result. Cannot wait to read again on progress with the Tear Drop caravan - coming from a long time overlander with offroad caravans here in SA!
 
Excellent news. I was going to suggest you get knitting needles ready for the day when the itching becomes unbearable, but your solution was far better.
I hope you did more than just walk laps of the pub.
