• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

I'm a lucky one because my route to work and back home every day is pure delight. The 8 mile journey (one way) is through country lanes up-n-over a big hill (Okeford Hill) and through a beautiful wood (Delcombe Wood). I never see traffic jams and I often hear the orchestra of life singing in glorious harmony. Today, I was driving my... wait for it... wait for it... E36 2.5i convertible M Sport ;) ;) 8-) ... roof and glass down, ciggy in right hand, arm hanging over the door, beany hat on and thinking... oh boy, this is what it's all about - pure delight. I then noticed a fab view on my right looking down into the valley - so I stopped and took a couple of pictures...

Looks great. Had to drop off the caravan for a service today, and on the way back stopped for a walk over Dartmoor - gin clear, 23 deg C, and stopped for a pub lunch at the Royal Oak at Meavy. Sat outside with a pie and a pint of "Jail Ale". Pure heaven. Told SWMBO that even if we were multi millionaires I wouldn't have wanted to spend the day in any other way.
 
Leaving the house yesterday at 6.30 to catch the train back to Blighty the mist over the marshes was only about 4 feet high. Odd to see cows standing it what looked like cotton wool. No pictures I am afraid just one for the memory

It seems that since the beginning of April it is a lot easier to get into the country than to leave. Had to pre register passport details to speed up border checks on the way out. Am expecting longer queues than normal.

Also have to stock up on a few essentials not to mention solve a few IT problems.
