• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

I was getting tired of looking at bins of flour and sugar sitting on our kitchen floor. Searched marketplace and found a unit I could modify. Needed to fill in open space between upper and lower cabinet, cut top scroll detail off , add wheels , hinged it to the wall and painted the unit.

No WIP photos, the unit was an Ikea believe it or not solid wood unit at a very good price.
Also nice to finally have a spot for Grandmas tea cup collection. After being in a box for 19 years.
And still have access to the cellar!
 
It took me a moment or two to work out what I was looking at.........but it's effectively a swing-away dresser in front of an under-stairs access to a cellar. Right?

That's a farily substantial store of sugar and flour!
 
Yes Mike, my wife likes to bake. In the cellar , which I can stand up in contains our furnace, well pressure tank and water filtration system. Also store potatoes, preserves and a chest freezer. Oh, also junk I need to purge.
 
The retro to the cabinet/dresser was done on what I call a quick and cheap job. But the colour is the same as the rest of kitchen cabinets and blends well.
 
No records but I know that 100 acre plots were surveyed by the government back in the mid 1800's. Locals remember talk of farmhouses being built in the area in the late 1800's or earlier. Think ours was very early 1900's.
Beams in the cellar are hand hewn.
