• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

I did a track day in various cars and skidding on gravel, grass and Tarmac was part of it. Every instance was turning into the skid, or opposite lock if you prefer.

Finished the day with a set of timed laps in Tommy Makkinen's Evo, great fun! I came second in points overall, by half a point. Was so annoyed!!! :)

Well having spent last week on some very snow covered roads, icy car parks and streets full of slush I am glad I bought them. I would not have been able to get the car in the car park without them.

The road up to the ski station had signs up indication either snow chains of winter tyres were compulsory. Very interesting to notice, for me anyway, that the only 4x4s were from the Paris regions. All the local cars were normal but with snow tyres.
Can't say I noticed any difference in handling in normal conditions, no excess road noise and fuel consumption on the 1400km round trip was what I was getting on a similar length journey to the Netherlands last summer.
 
Thanks Roger, not too bad at the moment.
Walking actually caused more pain than skiing. It occurred to me that when walking one puts one heel down - an action that is impossible when cross country skiing. It is after a stiff walk that the pain under the kneecap starts.
 
I didn't realise that you were cross-country skiing! Now I am jealous! None of that posy downhill stuff for me ;)

Yep can't see the point in downhill skiing. We had our honeymoon in Norway , but summer not winter, would love to go back again in the winter but I guess it would be very expensive.

I'll post a few photos later if you are interested, haven't had time to upload them yet - still unpacking and washing.
