• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Woo Hoo....Reacher's back

Daughter a big fan and has read all the books. Watched last night, some of the dialogue is almost comical, eg the police and snap crackle and pop interviews.

I tried a book once and got as far in as the end of the first page. 'Nuff said; not quite Conan Doyle- Rob

"Lee Child" was on Desert Island Disks a while back, highly entertaining.
The pseudonym is derived from household idiosyncrasies being attributed to one side of the family. The infant daughter was apparently a handful and inspired the name. The bad guys names in the stories correspond to the bad guys in the new management team that drove Granada Television to the wall,he lost his job and decided to be an author.
He had always liked Jack and the beanstalk as a kid( first half of the name) and was undecided on the surname. They were shopping in Asda in Kendal and an elderly lady asked him to get an item down from the top shelf. His wife remarked that if he failed as an author he could always work in Asda as a Reacher.
There is allegedly a blue plaque in the premises to commemorate the characters birthplace.

Some fantastic one liners and comebacks from the outset in the new season!

I tried watching an episode of one often series on Netflix some time ago - having heard rumours they were good - but only got part way and gave up. No dragons or wizardry... nor Diddly Squat 😎

Apologies to Roger and others that enjoy.
