• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Hello my fellow wood tickling friends.

I recently have had my garage broken into and had £3500 worth of precious tools stolen!!!! :cry: :cry: :cry:

Can anyone recommend a good insurance company that can insure a garage/workshop with a decent amount of cover please.

Looking forward to what suggestions arise

best getting on the phone and ringing round ....


a lot depends on your workshop construction, and it's location.
any security you have installed? what kind of kit you are insuring etc etc.

also is it trade/some sales, or hobby .. and yes !!! you have to be honest if you want paying for any claims !
 
I use A-plan insurance brokers for all my business & some of my personal insurance needs, I've always found them very helpful particularly on public liabilities & tool cover the parameters of which aren't straight forward enough for a lot of insurance companies.
 
I use A-plan as well. They were the only ones that would give me a decent amount of cover
 
All mine up the maximum amount of kit in the workshop is insured through my house contents cover with LV - Rob
 
Thanks for the help, I'll definitely look into A-plan and see what they say.

As I currently have issues with my insurance and how they have handled things, I'm pressing to get them to insure my garage for the year, and then see what happens! I don't know who the worst crooks are, insurance or the thieving scumbags who stole my kit!!!!
