Old Oak
I picked up a three of logs of yew from Beningbrough house, I passed on a huge piece no room in the boot for it.
I have split and planked up one log after cutting a chunk for a bowl. I did cheat and drilled out most of the waste to make things easier for my self. After shaping it I lent it in a paper bag with its shavings to slowly dry out.
I weighed daily and it was loosing about 10 grams a day to start with, it ended up at about 2 grams per day so I decided to finish it using various gouges, scrapershaves, spokeshaves, card scrapers and sandpaper I gave it a coat of Aldi hard wax oil and this is what it looks like.
I will do some more sanding once the finish has dried.
