• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Charging Modern Batteries in High Ambient Temperatures.

During the UK's short excursing into High Air Temps and relatively high humidity recently, I had occasion to place several small gardening appliance batteries on charge. Now even at 'normal' UK temps, these batteries often have to spend some time cooling down before the chargers will deem it...

    Nostalgia

A couple of days ago I finally succumbed to deconstructing some unwanted pieces of Oak furniture. Looking at some of the wood today trying to asses which to clean up and possible reuse in something for the family it dawned on me that the last time these joints saw the light of day was when my...

It’s bite the bullet time on a replacement cordless drill.

Reason, faithful small 12volt Makita started smoking whilst in use today * And the convenience of more than one hand drill and not having to keep changing drill bits or drivers is hard to ignore. Now any hand drill I purchase is only going to get occasional use these days but I’m used to the...

    Holiday visit

Last Wednesday we had a day out in the Bavarian countryside and for some unknown reason one of the casual stops for a stretch of the legs found this gate open and a big Red Door with EINGANG plastered on it. Einhell One of eight such avenues. An hour or so later, having made it to the...

    Back to basics

Having put off the spinny stuff for over 12months in deference to other priorities managed a couple of hours this afternoon to make a start on clearing some of the accumulated 'too good to burn' oddments. A bit of Home cured Beech from a hedge removed a few years ago. 175mm Dia...

    Gardening with Dead Moss

Way back in April I mentioned our attack on our grass patches moss invasion, We have managed to achieve a little investment return on the effort. Do threads with with multiple images have a size limit. (Edit Sorted)

Just attempted to post a thread in For sale (mainly free to good home) only for it to disappear into the ether. Frustrating. Edit:- Found content in Saved Drafts and reposted.
