I’m not a big seller on eBay and have just completed what must be the first sale in a couple of years.
The money went straight to my bank account which is a change from PayPal (told you it was a while!), no issues so far.
This morning I had what appears to be a genuine email from eBay telling me that they had just initiated two ‘micro transactions’ in order to verify my bank account. A quick check shows they have indeed sent me two payments of 2 and 7 pence.
Logging in to ebay shows that they are waiting for me to confirm arrival of those sums to complete verification.
I’m wondering why they need to do this as they’ve clearly got the account details as I’ve just been paid. Pretty sure it’s not a scam but confused nonetheless.
Anyone else experience this?
